Temu is a new, cross-border marketplace that can be accessed by app and website. It was launched in September 2022 by multinational commerce group PDD Holdings and has quickly become popular in the US. Temu offers products at extremely low prices across 250 categories, including apparel, beauty, electronics and home and home-improvement.

We examine recent proprietary consumer survey data to understand consumers’ usage and reception of Temu in the US e-commerce space.
