The retailer is offering a longer-running Friends and Family sale this year; the sale will last up to 11 days this year, but ran for nine days last year. Bloomingdale’s is using text message marketing this week, which it did not use during this week last year. JCPenney is promoting a similar number of sales this week as it did the same week last year. In both years, the retailer offered an online-exclusive sale. Last year, JCPenney ran a two-day bonus cash promotion that it is not offering this year. Kohl’s is running fewer sales this year than it did during the same week last year. The company promoted its Kohl’s Cash in both years. Kohl’s offered up to three online-exclusive/in-store-exclusive sales last year, but is offering only one online-exclusive sale and no in-store-exclusive sales this week.
