Our US Monthly Retail Traffic and In-Store Metrics Report reviews year-over-year changes in selected store-based metrics, including sales, traffic and conversion rates. Highlights from our May Retail Traffic report: US store traffic declined 8.9% year over year in May. The conversion rate (CVR) advanced 0.2 percentage points, average transaction value (ATV) grew 4.1% and the product return rate was flat year over year. May’s traffic varied over the course of the four weeks: The third week of the month had the lowest decline of 4.8%. Traffic declined in week 1 by 11.8%, in week 2 by 9.5% and week 4 by 7.8%. The northeast experienced the largest decline in traffic at 12.5% and the west experienced the largest decline in sales at 7.0%. The west had the smallest decline in traffic at 7.5% and the south had the smallest decline in sales at 3.8%. This report is for subscribers only.
