Our US Monthly Retail Traffic and In-Store Metrics Report reviews year-over-year changes in selected store-based metrics, including sales, traffic and conversion rates. Highlights from our August Retail Traffic report: US store traffic declined 4.7% year over year in August. The conversion rate advanced 0.7 percentage points, average transaction value (ATV) grew 1.0% and the product return rate declined 0.1 percentage points. August traffic varied over the course of the four weeks: The last week, heading into the three-day Labor Day weekend, performed the best. August 7 figures were low for sales, conversion rates, shopper yield, ATV and transaction volume. The west experienced the largest decline in traffic at 6.1%, and the south experienced the largest decrease in sales at 1.9%.
