Highlights from our May US Same-Store Sales report: Same-store sales for Costco saw an acceleration in May versus the same period last year. Cato, Buckle and L Brands all reported positive May comps, which also accelerated versus the same period last year. Mass-merchant Costco saw comps increase by 11.7% year over year in May versus the 7.7% consensus estimate. Hardlines were up by the low to mid-teens year over year, better-performing departments were majors, garden, office and sporting goods.
