Highlights from our June UK Retail Sales Report: The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported a strengthening of retail growth to 4.0% year over year in June, supported by a 3.4% increase in volumes. Growth was driven by a reported 9.1% increase in sales at small retailers: Large retailers, which form the bulk of most sectors, saw sales grow 2.6% year over year. Furniture, clothing stores and mail order/Internet pure play retailers all saw sales growth, while department stores/mixed-goods retailers saw a second consecutive month of falling sales.
