Highlights from our August US Same-Store Sales report: Costco’s global same-store sales growth slowed marginally from July but came in substantially ahead of the consensus estimate. The company’s online growth accelerated to 23.9% in August, from July’s 21.3%. Buckle posted an increase in same-store sales in both the men’s and women’s segments. Cato’s same-store sales growth slowed from 4% in July to 3% in August. The company said August total sales exceeded expectations, but it remains cautiously optimistic for the rest of the year.
