This week, JCPenney is focusing on its Labor Day home sale, while last year, it focused on its back-to-school sale. Kohl’s ran more promotions during this week last year than it is offering this week. This year, the company did not offer any Kohl’s Cash promotions, whereas, last year it did. Kohl’s is running an online-exclusive sale this year that it did not offer last year. It also featured more category-specific sales this week; last year’s sales featured many categories together. This week, Macy’s is running fewer promotional sales than it did last year. The retailer offered a “Shop for a Cause” promotion in both years.
