Americans are expected to spend an average of $39.65 on the holiday this year, up from $37.92 last year. The survey found that 50% of respondents plan to purchase holiday-themed food, while 41% plan to purchase beverages, 31% apparel or accessories, 26% decorations and 16% candy.
