Together with Fliggy, the hotel has introduced several New Retail features:

  • Room booking by virtual reality (VR): The hotel integrated VR technology into its online hotel reservations, enabling customers to have a preview of the hotel, from guest rooms to the beach outside.
  • Facial-recognition check-in: To check in, guests just need to scan their identification cards and enter their contact details. Once this verification process is completed, the kiosk will dispense a room key and the guests can go directly to their rooms.
  • Ali Genie: By speaking to the voice-controlled speaker—Ali Genie, customers can control the lighting, curtains, TVs and also request information such as meal times, call room service or hail a taxi.
  • Guests to stay first and pay later: The hotel adopted a credit-based hotel service system, where guests will enjoy a “deposit-free-post-pay” service with payment automatically settled 24 hours following checkout. This is backed up by scoring user credit history based on big data and Alipay’s credit system.
